Excessive Heat Advisory 7/8

Excessive high temperatures and humidity are predicted over the next several days. Governor Ned Lamont today (7/8/24) announced that due to a weather forecast indicating that Connecticut will experience very hot and humid temperatures over the next several days, he is directing Connecticut’s Extreme Hot Weather Protocol to remain in effect through 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

The current forecast as of Monday July 8th, is indicating that temperatures over this period during the daytime will rise into the 90s and the heat index will be between 95 and 100 degrees. Overnight temperatures are expected to be very uncomfortable, with lows only falling to the 70s and dewpoints also in the 70s.

Residents are advised to please take proper precautions.
