Severe Cold Weather Alert has been extended through noon on Thursday, February 5, based on the latest forecast guidance. Cold conditions are expected to continue through the week and into late next week. If you are at risk from the cold, please feel free to call 860-645-5500 for help. Individuals who are unhoused and in need of assistance should contact 2-1-1 or MACC Charities.
This is a friendly reminder to residents who have fire hydrants on or near their property, to remove the snow around them as soon as possible after the storm. This is a town ordinance in Manchester (Chapter 279, Section 19c,), but it is important everywhere. Clear a four-foot area in all directions around the hydrant and a three-foot wide path from the street to the fire hydrant.
