Join historian, curator, and author Christina Volpe, M.A., Ph.D. Candidate, of the Barnes Museum in Southington for an engaging exploration of Connecticut’s industrial rise and the influential families who shaped its Gilded Age. Through the lens of three prominent family collections she has studied, Christina will delve into the opulence, innovation, and lasting impact of these families—connecting their stories to Manchester’s own Gilded Age legacy. Christina will have artifacts related to The Barnes Museum on display, as well as copies of her newest book, “The Barnes Museum and Homestead”, available for purchase.
