Mission Statement

The Manchester Youth Commission is a diverse group of youth, appointed by the Manchester Board of Directors. This Commission collaborates with local government in an effort to create open communication in the decision making process, making it possible to strengthen the community through the voice of youth. 

The Youth Commission consists of up to twenty-four (24) members. Members are youth who reside in Manchester; are enrolled in or entering grades 9 through 12. Up to 4 members under the age of 19 enrolled in Manchester Community College (MCC) are eligible to serve on the Commission if they are able to serve a minimum of 2 years, unless joining as a senior or MCC student.

Join the Manchester Youth Commission

Step 1.Residency

Commission members must reside in Manchester; and be enrolled in, or entering grades 9 through 12.  **Up to 4 members under the age of 19 enrolled in Manchester Community College (MCC) are eligible to serve on the Commission if they are able to serve a minimum of 2 years, unless joining as a senior or MCC student.

Step 2.Apply

Step 3.Complete a Permission Slip

A permission slip is required for all programs at the Manchester Youth Service Bureau. Please complete a permission slip form along with your application for the Youth Commission here: Manchester YSB Permission Slip
