The Manchester Fire Department is looking for high quality candidates.

The Position:

Firefighter-Paramedics work in an exciting dynamic and highly rewarding environment. They work within a high-performance team to provide vital Emergency Services. We accept both entry-level and lateral candidates. Preference may be given to candidates who have successfully completed the Connecticut Fire Academy’s Recruit Firefighter Program.

Firefighter / Paramedics perform a variety of duties in response to medical and trauma emergencies and, are involved in the control and extinguishment of fires; protection of life and property; maintenance of Fire Department buildings, quarters, equipment and related work as required. Medical supervision is received from the Medical Director or his/her designee while administrative supervision and firefighting supervision is provided by the Fire Chief – Manchester Fire Department.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age – at time of application
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Office of Emergency Medical Services of Connecticut Paramedic License – at time of hire
• PALS certificate – at time of hire
• ACLS certificate – at time of hire
• CPR certificate – at time of hire
• Valid Connecticut Driver’s License or ability to obtain
• IAFF/IAFC Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) certificate – dated within two years of time of application
