The James “Dutch” Fogarty Independence Day Committee has announced this year’s celebration (the 39th) is postponed to the rain date Sunday, July 7, 2024.

Due to inclement weather being forecast for Saturday, July 6th and for the safety and comfort of our residents and all in attendance the James “Dutch” Fogarty Fourth of July Celebration Committee has decided to postpone Saturday’s Independence Day event at Manchester Community College until the following day, Sunday, July, 7, 2024.  We regret any disappointment this may cause and appreciate everyone’s understanding.
Those able to attend on Sunday can still enjoy the full schedule of activities and entertainment that was being offered for Saturday.  Everything begins at 4:00 p.m.  and finalizes with the best area fireworks display beginning precisely at 9:30 p.m.  This is an event not to be missed.

The event will be held on the grounds of the CT State Community College Manchester (Manchester Community College).  Admission and Parking to the event are free although those able to donate to help defray costs will be afforded an opportunity at parking lot entrances.

The Town of Manchester is pulling out all the stops for the most “you better be there” party of the season.  The James “Dutch” Fogarty Fourth of July Celebration committee is celebrating 39 years of legendary live music, kid’s zone activities, market place offerings, food, family, friends and fireworks-filled fun.  This annual get-together will be the highlight of the summer and is not something to be missed. It all starts at 4:00 p.m. and goes until the last rocket lights up the sky at 9:55 p.m.

Our artist lineup begins with the “Silver Fox String Band” taking the stage at 4:45, followed by the band “Nightshift” which formed in 2015 and since their very first gig has been one of the most in-demand cover bands in Connecticut.
To perform our National Anthem we are bringing in a multi-talented performing artist from Manchester who has portrayed various characters on stage and performed in numerous live musical events, and she’s only ten years old: Rylie Pennington!
